Interesting...

I watching this video the other day with Dan, and we both found it very interesting. It's kinda long, but worth the trouble of watching, I think. I would love comments or info from anyone who has any to either substantiate or disprove the information in this movie.

Comments:
My dad is a biologist and uses this video in his class. It is much more accurate about reality than the Al Gore film.

I haven't watched the video all the way through, but don't you remember back in the late 80's (or are you too young? lol) when there was as big hue and cry about how there was going to be another Ice Age?

Seriously!

If you look at the temperature trends from too short a period, then yes, it looks like on average the temps are going up. But if you step back and look at the big picture, it's just part of a normal cycle of events.

I don't know if this video covered this, but the OCEAN is the greatest source of off-gassed CO2 on our planet - not Southern CA traffic. What are we going to do, legislate bans on the ocean?!!

I'm all about being good stewards of the environment, but I am NOT about my tax dollars (increasingly MORE tax dollars) doing the job. Especially when such levies are based on faulty science or no science at all.

umm... does that counter say that it's over an hour long? i might have to coax tom into watching it with me after the girls go to bed. i'll let you know.

Yeah, it's pretty dang long, but very interesting...

I just want to note - sometimes people group global warming in with all pollution, as if you either believe that humans cause trouble or you don't. I found this video very compelling, but I don't think that it's a reason to disregard the environment in other ways. Carbon emissions aren't the only bad things about Hummers, we're still filling our rivers and oceans with pollution, etc. I think there is a real misconception - and I have certainly fallen prey to it - that the people who deny CO2-induced warming are just money-hogging jerks who don't want to deal with the consequences of their actions. I'm realizing that that is a very simplistic, partisan viewpoint that doesn't leave room for individual study of the issues...
